Request for accomodating an avatar of at least 500 KB

Postby Ace of Spades » Sat Oct 31, 2015 12:57 am

Respected Sirs and Madams operating IPC,

I enrolled as a private member in IPC's forums to comment on issues that interest me.

So far I have had no problems with IPC's forums and comments and indeed I appreciate how quick the operators of IPC were in responding to me. I would like to thank IPC for it.

I usually upload avatars that are at least 400 or 500 KB. I am not able to get an avatar of personal interest at 7 KiB. One humble request I would like to make to the Webmaster(s) and Operators of IPC is to kindly increase the file size to at least 500 KB.

Thanking You

Dear Friend:

Due to space limits we input for each task, we cannot exceed the avatar limits. 7 KB is plenty of room; many other forums operate on 3 KB.

A solution for you:

Go to free download Software sites such as:

Go to:
http://www.cnet.com/

Then go to:
http://download.cnet.com/windows/

Search for image or file minimizing software, and then you have options, choose the free ones and download a good one like:

File Minimizer Pictures 3.0

You can reduce the image bites to any desired limit without really reducing the quality of the image. This is a handy software type to reduce image file sizes to save space.

Respected Sirs and Madams of IPC,

I have some queries.

1. Is it possible for me to change my username to something else?

2. Is it possible for me (as a private user) to remove my own posts?

Thanks

Dear Friend:

1. Is it possible for me to change my username to something else?

Users should decide on their screen name before they join the club because this is their permanent ID. We don’t usually allow that but in your case we can make an exception.

Type exactly what you want and I’ll change it for you.

2. Is it possible for me (as a private user) to remove my own posts?

On top right of each post, you have a delete or edit buttons to revise your own posts.

Respected Sir/Madam,

Thank You for your quick reply.

1. I would like to change my name to The Ace of Spades.

2. There's only the edit option there, no delete option visible.

I apologize for creating inconvenience/trouble.

Thanks.

Hello

1. I would like to change my name to The Ace of Spades.

Done

2. There's only the edit option there, no delete option visible.

Yes you are correct, I was not aware that the web mistress decided to disallow deleting for members. Once you publish a post in IPC, it stays online, but you can revise it. Reason for doing so, is that in the past we had members and even moderators who posted many posts in respond to many topics and in later times for whatever reasons, they deleted their posts and made these topics meaningless. When you read these topics, you will notice that sometimes it sounds like some members are talking to the wall because others deleted their posts. Since then, web mistress decided not to allow deleting. This is not a chit chat childish forum. We conduct lengthy discussions, debates and sometimes chit chat but we like to keep the complete topics intact for reference. We keep our archives. If members wish not to post something, then they can revise it but if they wish to delete their posts, then they had no business posting it at the first place. Deleting posts or censoring posts are not our style, freedom of speech is respected.

Ace of Spades

You have changed a number of your posts to blank, if you want to delete a post, let me know and I will delete them or else edit and revise them but do not leave them blank. This would bring a topic to the top of the topics page for no reason at all. In general do not post a post or topic if you want to delete them later.
