Happy VD!

Postby LOJ » Mon Feb 14, 2005 2:13 pm

Did you know they really used to use that saying to wish people a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, until the modern times caught up and more people had VD than were wishing it!!! :D

Anyway Happy Valentines Day to all, and also did you know???
2.2 million marriages take place in the United States annually. That breaks down to about 6,000 a day.

- 138,600 marriages were performed in Nevada during 2003. So many couples "tie the knot" in the Silver State that it ranked fourth nationally in marriages, even though its total population that year was 35th.

- 25.3 and 27.1 are the estimated U.S. median ages at first marriage for women and men, respectively, in 2003. The age for women is up 4.3 years in the last three decades. The age for men is up 3.9 years.

- The proportion of women 20 to 24 years old who had never married more than doubled between 1970 and 2003 — from 36 percent to 75 percent. Changes were also dramatic for men — the corresponding rate for men in this age group increased from 55 percent to 86 percent.

- 54% and 57% are the percentages of American women and men, respectively, who are 15 and over and currently married.

- There were 4.6 million cohabitating couples who maintained households in 2003. These couples comprised 4.2 percent of all households, up from 2.9 percent in 1996.

- There are 118 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) who are in their 20s for every 100 single women of the same ages.

- There are 33 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) age 65 and over for every 100 single women of the same ages.

- 24.6 pounds of candy per capita was consumed by Americans in 2003; it is believed a large portion is consumed around Valentine’s Day. Candy consumption has actually declined over the last few years; in 1997, each American gobbled more than 27 pounds of candy a year.

- The combined wholesale value of domestically produced cut roses in 2003 was $52 million for all operations in 36 states, with $100,000 or more in sales. Among all types of cut flowers, roses were second in receipts to lilies ($70 million.

- There were 28,914 jewelry stores in the United States in 2002. In February 2004, these stores sold $2.4 billion worth of merchandise — a much higher total than in the preceding month or succeeding months.

ALSO:
THE TRUE HISTORY OF VALENTINE'S DAY IS:
Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Simply Shocking!
:shocking:
Holy Shiite! And I wasn't able to sleep for 3 nights! And I live a life of horror! I am the Dark One! Nothing can scare me! But this movie, no matter how simple the story & characters may look, gave me shivers down my spines! Very few Horrors can do that to me! One of the best Horrors ever made! After The Ring, this was the second Master Piece of Japanese Horror that I have seen! They were basically same style!

Sorry I haven't been able to get here enough and all, but thanks for the LOVELY compliments.
I see that you're converting, seeing the Passion of Christ and all, even I HAVE NO DESIRE TO SEE THAT, and if you were affected/aka/infected by it, then you also listen to PLAIN PEOPLE AND ALLOW THEM TO INFLUENCE YOUR MIND....what happened to the OLD DOC, you know the one who detested anything about religion.....gawddddd.....did I have such a meaningful EFFECT ON YOU??????

If you saw the Passion of Christ then you HAVE TO SEE "THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST" this is more realistic! It shows him not as some worshipped diety but a HUMAN BEING WHO WENT THRU THE SAME temptations as humans did, after all that is how I got my nickname once upon a time ago as Mary Magdelene, I tried seducing Father Sample and it almost worked, anyway he ended up resigning from the church ....which he should have done especially if he was tempted that easy.....this was like 15 years ago......
Another thing to add to my repertoire

Well dear, I guess this is the only way to reach you, since you obviously ignore my IM's.......BE Good DEAR, and try to recapture some of the OLD DOC, or did you marry a Muslim in your absence..... :-k

This is my guess, you LOVES AMERICA, but you wind up marrying a girl from home......by the way why don't you ever pose with some HOME GIRLS, the ones in your pic look like the epitome of the blondes in AMERICA.....need I say more.....oops.....is one of them your Muslim BRIDE???? :stirthepot:

Have fun dear......and my name now is Layla as you will see on my site....
LUvs, kisses, :kissey:
LOJ my name for here anyway...... :Hi:

OOPS SORRY DOC!

Postby LOJ » Fri Feb 25, 2005 5:51 pm

Motasseffammmmm!!! I misunderstood...I thought you meant in your last post that it was the movie, "THE PASSION OF CHRIST" that kept you up...where as I can see that a movie with the word PASSION would keep you up or atleast slightly entertained for a few day, you meant the GRUDGE!

YES YES YES, THAT WAS AN AWESOME MOVIE, BUT JUST WHEN YOU HAD MY FULL ATTENTION FOR LIKING THE SAME MOVIE THAT I DID, YOU WENT AND blewwww it, by mentioning the RING! That movie sucked, but let me fill you in, even though I never saw Predator and only had a very passing interest with ALIEN, ALIEN VS PREDATOR was AWWWWWESOME, a movie with a plot and some understanding for the viewers on how this evolution thing got and maintained itself thru this epoch.

I loved it, but Freddy vs Jason was a movie like the Ring that had me yawning or hoping something boring would happen in the outskirts of my life so I would have an excuse to turn it off.
SORT OF LIKE WHEN YOU COME ONLINE.....that is WHEN YOU COME ONLINE, you can say all you want how you don't come online that much....and I say POOOOOHHHHHYYYYY....Iknow you're on, you just never make yourself visible.....
so what gives, what does it take to schedule a private moment with you, surely it can't cost as much as it does to schedule a moment with moi????!!!!!!
Oh yes and in case you forgot I lowered my per minute time for you to 16.99/minute, but with your reputation you will max out at 33.98 Tell me this isn't TRUE???? :shadesi:

Ok dear, you have every smiley under the sun, but where is KOJAXXXXX or LOJAXXXXX......what do you think of DOXXXXXX as your new name, and no relationship to that short name they give those weiner dogs.....although now that I think of it....hmmmmm...damn I'm good...yet HUMBLE

Another good but WEIRD MOVIE WAS "SAW"..... :out:

I live for horror movies, they are the only thing that makes my existence seem NORMAL!!!!! I think that is why you like them too...but just a theory.
Ok dear...must go, I will await your response....hope all is going well at the UNIVERSITY.....luvs, LOJ :vamp: (THIS SHOULD BE MY ICON SINCE I ABSOLUTELY HATE DAYTIME....nothing good ever comes of it if you think about it......when do most people work (and most don't enjoy work) during the day, but when do people recall their most memorable times....at night of course....even the folks in the GRUDGE will tell you that :jahel:
Luvs, LOJ

THAT SUCKS YOU HAVE A SMILEY NAMED AFTER YOU AND IIIII DON'T, yet you have some dildo that fought windmills (don CHIXOTE) its QUIXOTE, and you don't have a smiley named after me....OKEE DOKEE I SEE WHERE YOUR PRIORITIES ARE, :tempt: and this is the UGLIEST TEMPTRESS I HAVE EVER SEEN ....see the choices you leave me dear...no wonder LOLO had to download her own avitar....hey if you need some good ones, just go to my site...
that is
WWW.XXXOTICAAA.COM
Yeppers bought my own domain and everything, and html....well it's a breeze now dahhhhlingggg...I guess shiite head did help alot...
