Based on the Alien Torts Claims Act (ATCA), it may be possible for Iranian plaintiffs to file suit and seek monetary damages for human rights violations (such as torture) experienced in Iran. The Alien Torts Claims Act allows “non Americans to sue for human rights abuses in U.S. Courts.â€
