Jacob Abbott has certain different views on Daius than Dr. Mohamad Javad Mashkur (Darius Historian); however, the book is informative and there are even certain new points in it which are interesting to the reader. Jacob Abbot is a historian and done a vast research on both Darius and Cyrus. Some people are not keen on him and believe he just re-wrote Herodotus and Xenophenon material, but it is not true, he has done a vast research of his own. I may not agree with all his views but certainly I must give credit to the man for his research, compile-ment and interesting views.
History freaks would be interested.
